What is ethic? Ethics is the system of rules that governs the ordering of values.
When a consumer wants to perches a product they have to look at the company and think, is the company selling a product to be used for what it was advertised for. Will the product perform as it was intended? When the product starts having problem, will the company be there for the customer, to help them resolve their problem and answer their questions. If you said no to any of these, do you really want their product?
In 2009 Magic Jack (MJ) produced by YMAX which is a Media, Communications and Solutions Corporation pulled the wool over the consumer's eyes. The company had consumers believing that this was the bridge over troubled water. It was going to revolutionize the way that consumers would use a telephone (YMAX Corp, 2009). The product had been out on the market for some time and even then the product was starting to have some problems
As I was doing my research I could not find anything positive about the Magic Jack except for the advertisement. What I did find out was that YMAX would not stand behind their product that they were selling. The consumer was charged $20 for the product and $20 a year for the license agreement.
MJ advertisement said customers had a 30 day trial and if you did not like the product, you could return it for a full refund. That was not true, if the consumer had problems with the product and called costumer service, they refused
