Who feels glad because she sang at President Kennedy’s inauguration, fearful for the future of African Americans, grateful for the Marian Anderson Fund
Who needs a father’s love and support, money for high school and, singing lessons
Who fears being separated because of her race, not being good enough to please the crowd, and heart failure
Who gives hope to future African American singers, the world a new singing sensation, and inspiration to many people
Who would like to see races coming together, African American singers becoming successful, and her father one last time
