Muhammad Ali, for hockey, Wayne Gretzky, and for the UFC, Matt Hughes. Matts the longest reigning champion for his weight division ever in the UFC. The reasons because of his hardworking ethic for training, how he studies his opponents thoroughly, or its the respect he shows towards this sport. When Matt Hughes first started out, he had very little experience and seemed very green in the ring. He needed the guidance from his trainer, Pat Miletich, to become the Welterweight champion. His strong work ethic in training for a fight has also helped him. He basically sleeps, eats and trains when there's an upcoming fight. His life consists of the moto "to be the best you have to train like the best". His intelligence in reading up on his opponent early means he can train in specific areas. Which has lead him to the longest title holding in the UFC. If the person has
