Memory Improvement Tools
Memory
The first article is Memory Improvement Tools. The article is more of techniques on how to improve memory either by Mnemonics which is another word for memory tool.
You can use mnemonics for remembering information that is otherwise quite difficult to recall. The other parts are imagination, association and location. The key idea is that by coding information using vivid mental images, you can reliably code both information and the structure of information. Images are easy to remember especially for a visual learner like myself. The techniques explained later on in this section show you how to code information vividly, using stories, strong mental images, familiar journeys, and so on. There are some other simple techniques that the article goes into and that is like use positive images and humor. The second article is Tips for Improving Your Memory. This article goes more in-depth with examples. The article talks a lot about the timing of your memory for example it states that the well known learning curve shows that in five minutes, much of the information you have taken in is lost. After an hour - two thirds of it is lost. And after a day has passed - 90 % of it is lost. The article gives some examples on how to remember mainly with association with numbers. Some examples the article gives is top ten list is to associate words with ten numbers, top twenty list is to associate words with twenty numbers, and lastly roman room theory is basically to take something familiar like your room and put important things you have to do with an item in the room (I really don’t think this one would work especially if you rearrange your room often, then you might forget the order of the important things you have to do). The overall message of the article is to recall, organize and then associate the thing you are trying to remember. I think the best two ways to improve your memory once again really depends on the person and how they learn. In my case I feel that the best two ways to improve memory would have to be from the first article the imagination, association, and location. This technique really helps me because as a visual learner I really almost do this already for example if I needed to remember a date in history I can imagine a movie that is similar and remember the time by where it took place. The other technique that has to do with timing is a great way to remember I would say small amounts of information there are six steps. take in formation, about five minutes later, undisturbed, go over the main points of what you are trying to remember(that should only take you a minute or two), an hour later do the same thing, three hours later do the same thing, six hours later do the same thing. Then that night
