Modules Develop Unionism
Modules Develop Unionism
Gianne Paola M. Sumanga
During our first semester, we were given numerous modules to be completed at a limited time. Coming from different sections, majors, and schedules, our group had a bit of hard time to comply with the modules given to us. New faces, new adviser, new surroundings. Everything else is new. Upon the orientation, our class was subdivided into groups. Therefore, making friends was much easier. An exchange of hi’s and hello’s, names, contact numbers, and etc. After a few weeks, our first module was given. As far as I can remember, we are asked to create a short video representing the three Core Thomasian Values. Due to differences of class schedule, we meet even on weekends to do the assigned modules, or if not each and every one in the group were designated to a specific task. Through these, we developed not only friendship but also team work and unionism. Modules help us not only as a group, but as individual as well. It serves as an eye-opener to us that education is one of the core things one must have to be able to survive in this competitive world. After realizing that our NSTP course had come to an end, I felt tired and exhausted but at the same time felt happy and fulfilled. Even though, there are lot of things I have never done before and it was my first time to do it, with all pride I can say that I did it with all I can. Whenever there is a part of me that wanted to take a step back from accomplishing things, I constantly remind myself that I am doing this not only for my grades, or for personal reasons, but also for a cause – which is to help less fortunate families. Putting everything that I’ve learned in NSTP in my mind and it my heart, and applying these in everyday life is much more meaningful than getting a flat 1.0 by the end of the semester. Nothing feels better than knowing that by your own simple way, you’ve put a smile on the face of other people and you’ve been able to share your knowledge to them. That would be the best experience ever.
