The quake caused an extremely stressful situation with mass death, and widespread collapse of community life and economy. The 1988 earthquake struck Armenia in the wrong place at the wrong time and Armenia was completely blindsided and not ready for such massive destruction.
Therefore, first things first we had to pack everything we owned and get ready for a long and tiresome trip. We also had to get our passports ready to enter into the USA. Well the big day had arrived and we had all of our friends and relatives waiting with us at the airport to bid us farewell.
