INTRODUCTION

I. In Pennsylvania- A gunman kills 6 people in a one room Amish school house. In Colorado, a drifter walks into a school and fatally shoots a student before taking his own life. Wisconsin authorities charge three boys with plotting a bomb attack on their high school. Two weeks later, a student shoots his principle. IN Vermont, a gunman burst into an elementary school and guns down a teacher.

II. All of this and _____ more in the past month alone.

III. There have been many “anti-bully”, zero tolerance and other safety policies put into effect to help with school safety.

IV. School violence still affects the safety of over____ amount of students in the United States.

V. Today, we are going to discuss drugs, sexual assault and weapons problems affecting out schools.

I. Violence, abuse, and drug-related problems are an unending cycle in schools and there is much room for improvement in the way schools handle these problems.
