SCOPE OF THE PROBLEM
This study focuses on nap and its effects on the performance of Nursing Junior students of Far Eastern University during the first semester of 2011. It is a necessity to know whether having a nap between duties will help the students performs effectively or not. By knowing this, we can improve our delivery of care for our client. The subjects, 60 nursing students from four different groups will be under observation for 2 months. To evaluate the performance in duty, the researchers will record medication and charting errors at the said span of time. On the other hand, we will have a comparison of their previous and present grades as well as recitation points for their lecture performance.The objective is to determine whether 15-30 minutes of nap during duty and school hours will improve performance or not. The facilities are a nap room during duty and school hours; a clock or stopwatch; and the subjects (nursing students). The nap room will be controlled of noises and personal talks. It will be conducted anytime between 10-6pm during PM shift . The study will cover three weeks of duty, which is two days each; and 3 weeks of school days, also for two days.
