One recent afternoon I went to visit my friend Jamie. Jamie is happily married and the parent of a 3 year old girl named Haley. While we were in the family room talking and trying to catch up, Haley was constantly underfoot and kept interrupting her mother while she was speaking. Jamie repeatedly told her not to interrupt and to wait until she was finished speaking. Even though they had just eaten lunch prior to my arrival, she started whining about being hungry. Jamie tried to reason with her, but in a sing song voice that wasn’t the least bit firm.
