Within the Caribbean society Language Learning and the study of Literature are two most important areas of specialization. Literature is a term used to describe written or spoken material. Broadly speaking, "literature" is used to describe anything from creative writing to more technical or scientific works, but the term is most commonly used to refer to works of the creative imagination, including works of poetry, drama, fiction, and nonfiction. On the other hand, Language learning is the process by which humans acquire the capacity to perceive, produce and use words to understand and communicate. This capacity involves the picking up of diverse capacities including syntax, phonetics, and an extensive vocabulary. Language learning may also refer either to the specifically human capacity for acquiring and using complex systems of communication, or to a specific instance of such a system of complex communication. Language Learning and the study of literature are therefore interdependent on each other, which therefore results in a complementary relationship between the study of literature and language learning.
Literature is generally seen to play a valid role in language teaching, and therefore should have its place in the language curriculum of translation students. One of the fascinations of literature lies in the enjoyment that it offers. Literary texts provide us with much aesthetic, intellectual
