Povert in Usa
To reduce the rate of child poverty, they say that we need to remove obstacles to
employment, improve education, and strengthen the family. I don’ t agree with the first
change suggested. I think that anyone is able to get some sort of job and work their way
up. I only think there are obstacles to employment if you’re trying to get a job that you
don’t have the skills or experience for. A homeless person, if properly motivated
probably could get a minimum wage job at some assembly line place. I think the first
change that people are focusing on is completely unnecessary.
The second step of improving educations, i strongly agree with. Because one out
of every five people that drop out of high school become poor, educational standards
should be strengthened. Teachers, school boards and principles (and anyone else I left
out) should employ everything possible to make sure that students stay active and
interested in school. I don’t really know of any educational programs, but the family
could always get a tutor to help out with the students schoolwork.
