Background:
Qatar Airways is the national airlines of Qatar. It was established on 22 November 1993 when the Amir of Qatar wanted to own airlines follow by his country. Qatar airways started operations on 20 January 1994, which mean almost one year from it is establishments. The beginning was with flight in 20 of January, 1994. Qatar airline used rent plane Boeing 200-737 after that two Airbus planes A310s followed. During 5 years Qatar air ways used two planes S-727 and two aircraft Boeing SP-747and Airbus AS310 which uses to reach London, Gatwick, Dakar, Colombo and Bangkok.
Government of Qatar holds about 50% stake in Qatar Airways and the rest is held by private investors such as Qtel. Qatar airways were partnership with Qtel since Qatar airways establishment. The two national companies, Qatar airways and Qtel, would work together to implement and provide us with a firm basis to grow and develop together. Qatar Airways and Qtel are both globally-minded companies that see strong potential for international expansion at the same time as understanding our responsibilities to the people of Qatar.

Over the last decade, Mr. AL-Baker spearheaded the growth of Qatar Airways, which operated only four aircraft in a regional capacity prior to his appointment. At the end of 2003, Qatar Airways flies to 60 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, the Indian subcontinent and the Far East. In India, Qatar Airways flies to Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram, Hyderabad, and Kochi. The Air Qatar is going for a massive fleet expansion and would have a fleet of 52 aircrafts currently to reach about 83 international route networks by the end of 2008. The fleet consists of A330-300, A330-200, A320-200, A321-200, A319LR, A319CJ, A300-600R, and A300-600 freighter.

To reach international approach for tourism .Qatar decided to improve building structure of Doha International Airport which is located 5 km from Doha's city centre. The airport currently services 23 regional and international airlines and is the hub for Qatar Airways. With long term plan for Qatar development MR. AL-Baker decided to open New Doha International Airport, which opens in phases from 2011 with new conversion in service.
With a successful businessman in Doha for more than 25 years experience MR.AL-Baker divided Qatar airways too several divisions of Qatar's national airline - these being Qatar Airways Holidays, Qatar Aviation Services, Qatar Duty Free Company, Doha International Airport, Qatar Distribution Company and Qatar Aircraft Catering Company.
