Reduced Homework

Shouldn't the district or teachers assign students less homework? We should have less homework because some students have activities outside of school, they don't have time to spend with their family anymore, and it may affect their physical health. There should be a sufficient of homework so that students will not have to have a lot of stress.

First of all, the reason why teachers should give less homework is because like I said, some students have activities outside of school. Activities like dance, gymnastics, fencing, taekwondo, and etc. These activities sometimes give you injuries if you don't pay attention or don't do well if it's your first time. Or when you're new to the stuff and when you're really into it and want to try hard. Physical injuries or ailments can affect study time.

Then, when they're having family time they won't be able to participate because they either have a paper research or a project to do. "I think that teachers should NOT assign homework to students simply because kids need time to be kids, go hang out at a local community center with friends, bike, and skateboard. We don't need extra curriculum unless we really want to. I think it is the student's choice if they want extra marks for the future but if you decide not to take the homework it will not affect your grade." ("Rethinking Homework", 2011) Sometimes when there is an abundance of school work, family time may be affected as well.

Lastly, some activities require a lot of practice and students gets home not until 7-8pm, if they have a sport that makes you do drills. By
