The Mid-Autumn Festival has always been a very special and enjoyable occasion for children in Vietnam. Unfortunately there are still many Vietnamese children never have the opportunity to enjoy this tradition. They are poor and disabled, some even having to work on the streets to earn their living and support their families.
In 2003, the Alpha Group was founded in Hanoi to help disadvantaged children. Whenever the Mid-Autumn Festival comes, we usually organize a unique festival for those who have not have an opportunity to participate and enjoy this special Vietnamese tradition. It’s our intention to provide them this social event to enjoy traditional Moon cakes and games, replacing thoughts of hardship and misfortune with the inspiration of regaining hope and faith in their lives. This program has successfully brought smiles to very many disadvantaged children every Autumn.
This year, it is our hope to once again, organize another fun-filled day for 150 disadvantaged children between 15-17 years old from Hanoi and its neighbored areas on September 17, 2005 from 16.ooh to 19.3oh at Bach Thao Park, Ngoc Ha, Ha Noi. That is why we have been working long and hard to fulfill our pledge to help to bring smiles of the faces of those children. We hope we can count on you to help us at this time. We invite you to join us during this wonderful Event to see first-hand your efforts.
We hope you will be able to make a gift of either your in-kind (used books, toys, moon cakes etc ..) or to participate in this Event by making a contribution
