Resolving Problems
Newspaper is a great product for our environment, it comes from a renewable resource and it is recycled into more paper.
There are a few chemicals used to manufacture newspaper, the main one is sulfate, used to separate the fibers from the wood chips during the mulching process ( Rahman, 2003). There is a little pollution that is released with the steam from the scolding hot water, but it doesn't seem like enough for anyone to get concerned with the impact to the environment. As long as people take care of the earth and plant trees then we will always have the resources to make newspapers. If we keep recycling papers then we can also used those to make more newspapers with, and that would cut down on our tree lose, and the recycling process of a lot of paper is only seven days. The initial manufacturing of newspapers is a process that takes a long time, with a lot of different steps. The only difference in the newspaper process from any other paper is after this one is done being produced it is shipped to whatever printer is needed.
The only environmental impact from disposing the newspaper that seems real important is when people don't recycle the newspaper and it ends up in landfills. Landfills are the biggest producers of methane gases, 20 times the potency of carbon dioxide, which means very bad for the ozone layer. Archeology Professor William
