Description of Riordan Manufacturing
Riordan Manufacturing Incorporated is a plastics company that manufactures Injection molding of extruded products. They have manufacturing plants in San Jose California, Albany Georgia, Pontiac Michigan, and Internationally Hangzhou China with excellent production capabilities that create innovated plastic technology with a focus on their design aspects that have given them international fame and confidence throughout the plastic manufacturing industry. Upon the industry standards they need to focus on security as a major contribution part of their daily routine as they focus on the areas of concern below.
Description of Security Request
Conduct security review and recommendation throughout Riordan Manufacturing facilities on specific security issues. Riordan needs to address relative issues to network data throughout the company's sites, and web security issues and arrive to a conclusion on how to solve those issues. When looking into a security review for Riordan Manufacturing needs to focus on solving these issues in real time.
This has been discussed among the team members, and as a team effort came up with some critical results that need to be addressed. Further conclusion for the team has chosen the evaluation on the current wide area network and LAN network evaluated that security protocol currently in place. The team has found that some of this has been outdated and needs updating to current standards.
Background request
The team has addressed concern about various security aspects of Riordan of recent Sarbanes-Oxley requirements it seems that some background requests are in order for Riordan Manufacturing as they have looked into streamlining their business with steps in saving their financial data. Further reviews show that for this to happen. Riordan needs to be in compliance and have underwritten an intense security and compliance mandates to increase their safe guards against threats. They have developed a plan to minimize cost and still be efficient in safeguarding their information, and have flexibility over cost efficiency throughout their business practice.

Although Riordan Manufacturing has had a security plan that has functioned well in its plants located both in the United States and overseas, it is more than apparent that the company is in need of an upgrade. As the computer industry is an ever-changing industry, it is therefore imperative that security to be an ever changing area as well so that it is in compliance with the current industry standards to continue to protect the company's important files and data. In looking at Riordan's diagrams for those in the United States plants they are very similar and out of date.
The first item brought to attention is that of the Kentros Datasmart 658 CSU/DSU and how this is only capable of running on a "Fractional T-1 256K with 256K CIR for E-mail and 1.5 Mbps CIR for Burst." This stands out because there are newer models capable of withstanding a T-1 or above with no issues. The second item that stands out in this diagram is that of the 48 port Patch Panel this stands out because it is just not clear why the company choose to use this.
