English is the fourth most widely spoken native language in the world, and in terms of sheer number of speakers, it is the most spoken official language in the world. It is the primary language used in international affairs. The English language has official status even in nations where it is not the primary spoken language.

A lot of international students come to America to learn English and I was one of them. Learning English is important because it is the most common language in the world. Almost 60% people in the world use English regularly. As a non-native English learner and also a marketing student, I would like to say learning English is very important because it can bring me lot of foreign friends, improves my chance of getting a good job, and probably can led my family's company to become an international company.

First of all, learning English can bring me lot of foreign friends. When I was the first time in the United States, my English was so poor, so I only can have friends whom are Chinese speaker. After four years, I can speak clearly and most people can understand what I am to say. I can go out to shop with my friends whom are native speaker. I can study together with them. We all can share the study experiences and work experiences with each other. This is the most basic reason for me to learn English.

Secondly, it improves my chance of getting a good job. My future goal is when I finish my master degree, I am going to go back China and find a job for two to three years because it can improve my working experiences, and then, I would like to help my parents to lead their food company. In China, if one person who can speak two languages especially speaks English, the person can get a job first than other competitors whom need this job.
