School Should Start Late
On average in today’s society most teenagers are forced to wake up very early and as a result they don’t get enough sleep. Students are extremely stressed in the mornings and have to rush to get to school on time, and even then students get late!
To those teens that maybe listening to this, don’t you hate waking up early in the morning? Some of these school starting times are bloody insane! It is just too early for many teenage minds to function and work correctly and efficiently. Many students are now receiving detentions for being late, and it is normally for being late to registration or the first lesson, this is because they oversleep. With an extra 45mins, don’t you think it would be much easier to get to school on time and not receive detentions?
At this age teenagers need more sleep than they used to need when they were little kids. The students would be a million times better, more alert and on task and it would be a lot less demanding for both the students and the staff at the school. If children don’t get enough sleep morale will below and students wouldn’t work hard. Yet if school timings were moved 45mins later it will result in huge benefits for concentration levels. This can be a big,big bonus when coming to exams. Results from researches suggest that the average teenager needs around 9-10 hours’ sleep but studies show that on average teens only get 7.5
