The United States 1917 entry into World War I represents one of the crucial turning points in American history. The war began for America long before it started for the common man. On May, 1915, German sunk the British Lusitania boat. This even was cited as one of a series of outrages to which President Woodrow Wilson reacted with self-control and patience. Later Wilson was forced to make war upon the Germans in order to protect the people and land of America. Submarine warfare was one of the more major reasons why the United States entered the war. The Zimmerman Telegram was another reason why the U.S entered the war, it angered many Americans. The U.S should have entered the war because of the sinking of Lusitania, Zimmerman Telegram and restrictions of submarine warfare all left Americans with no other choice.
