This chapter of this book tell us the number of business in Australia and draws statistics from a variety of ABS and other sources. It is provides updates through to 1989-90. It shows a clear definition of small business. Also, it shows studies which are statistics about the number of business of business in Australia.

This studies show a statistical definition which defined small business in accordance with the report's size categories as having: - less than 20 employees for non-manufacturing industries and less than 100 employees for manufacturing industries. In addition, it shows some of the more important statistics presented are counts of business by size. This will help me in my assignment which gives me many case studies and examples about small business in Australia.
