Team Dynamics

What is a team and why do we need them? A team is a group of people who put collective effort and mutual cooperation into a project. Every one at some point in life will need the use of a team or even become part of a team. Working together as a team can make projects easier to succeed as well as make them difficult to proceed. In order to have successful hard working teams there are many dynamics that must be practiced. Team Dynamics are the unseen forces that operate in a team between different people or groups. Team Dynamics can strongly influence how a team reacts, behaves or performs, and the effects of team dynamics are often very complex. One of the most important team dynamics used in a professional environment is conflict resolution. The following essay will include a description of strategies used to resolve conflicts such as; making a team decision, managing conflict, and mediation.

Working with a group of people who have different personalities and point of views is very difficult, but getting them all to agree on a responsible decision is far most the hardest to achieve. Why? Well, the nature of a work team makes people vulnerable to conflicts and disagreements; because people carry the weight of personal values, experiences and beliefs into the work team. Decision making processes and styles may vary according to each individual. There is always the possibility that conflict will arise.
