Chapter 1

What is the universe?

The Universe is the name that we use to describe the collection of all the things that exists in space. The universe is so huge that its size is hard to imagine it is made of millions and stars and planets, and enormous clouds of gas separated by gigantic empty spaces.

This chapter talks about the theories on how the universe is or was formed. It also tells about human technology in space. The different types of telescopes and how human use space stations to run tests on how the human reacts in space. Human technology has become so advanced that wee can now send probes further distances and get better pictures.

What is our solar system?

Our solar system is made up of the sun and all the objects that spin around it, from planets and moons, to chunks of rock and huge amounts of dust. The word solar means “of the sun”.

Our solar system consists of nine planets, tons of asteroids, comets, and moons

meteoroids. The main thing of our solar system is our sol or sun. The sun’s what keeps our solar system running, as it should. To course you know about the nine planets but around these incredible masses are their moons. Sometimes these moons can block out the sol this can cause a lunar eclipse. In our solar systems there is about 90 counted for moons.

Scientists have been trying to explore space and its wonder as long as man. Some of these famous scientists are Ptolemy, Copernicus, Brahe, Galilei, Newton, and Hawking just to name a few. Many tools have been invented and as time continues to go on new technology
