The BFP is a community –oriented government agency that provides assistance to the citizenry not only during fire but also in times of typhoons, floods, earthquakes, vehicular accidents and various other calamities. In the pat few years, the demand for the information management has considerably increased both in government and in private sectors.
The emergency preparedness in the Philippines is considered to be unvalued and doesn’t bite any of help for the populace in the late 1990’s. But in the succeeding decade, emergency preparedness had gained popularity in the country due to unprecedented arrival of super typhoons, flooding, drought due to climate change, earthquakes, local insurgencies, epidemics and terrorism.
After Typhoon Pablo wrath the Municipality, it left every New Bataaneos in a state of despair. People weary and sometimes felt the hopelessness of the situation. Much worst, come into view with numerous lifeless individuals. The absence of emergency preparedness scheme had added in the loss of lives and properties that if flash floods and landslides hazards areas were identified it could have mitigated and promote a safe community.
The off and on supports from the national and local government levels and the inadequacy of information towards these hazards have added in the dilemma too, considering the importance of materials and training to give justice to what has been expected to accomplish by the local firefighters.
