The Forgotten Day
The alarm clock rang with its usual sound of the annoying beep. Five seconds later Jimmy still half asleep moved his arm and slammed it on the clock ending the annoying sound. After a few seconds past by Jimmy looked at the clock and immediately sprang out of bed. He was late for the 5th time this week for school. The principal told Jimmy yesterday that if he was late again he would be put into in school suspension for two days. Jimmy with a jump put on some faded jeans and a polo shirt. He barely had time to brush his teeth and comb his hair which for some reason did not matter because by the end of the day it was always in his eyes. As he slid down the staircase and into the kitchen his mom glared at him and said "wow your energetic this morning." Jimmy just glanced at her feeling the sarcasm coming from her voice. As he grabbed a piece of toast he rushed out of the house hearing his mom mumbling something about mowing the lawn for the third time this week.
Getting into his prize possession a 1995 Honda Civic and revving the engine, Jimmy was contemplating how he could escape the wrath he could already hear from his principal. Peeling out of his driveway and into the street all he could think about was excuses and how lame they were getting. Luckily for him the school was only a ten minute drive and he reached his destination in about 5. Parking seemed to be no problem because of the fact that no one was there.
The parking lot should be full and almost impossible to find a spot. Jimmy sensing something was incredibly wrong parked his car and went into the school. As he entered the school, he could hear footsteps and just brushed it off thinking it was students making trouble. He sprinted to his classroom door and barely caught his breath when he opened the door. Just like the parking lot it was empty. Jimmy thought that this is the strangest thing and started to think of the possibilities of where everyone would be. He knew the football team was in the state playoffs about an hour away and figured most people who had cars would be waiting and tailgating for the game. Nothing seemed to come to his head of why nobody was there when it dawned on him that it was Friday and the seniors had an assembly in the gymnasium. Walking to the gymnasium was not an easy task considering it was on the first floor and he happened to be on the third floor and across campus from it. He thought to himself, I haven't been to an assembly in about a year because of all the time I have been tardy. It's amazing that I am a senior still.
Running through the halls not caring how much commotion he was causing to disturb the classes he ran like there was no tomorrow, because there might not be if he got suspended. Once on the first floor again he stopped took a deep breath and entered the gymnasium expecting to hear all the seniors talking about upcoming events such as prom and graduation. When he opened the doors to his surprise there was nobody in the gymnasium. He nothing and it seemed almost creepy of the situation he was in. How can there be no seniors in the school right now.
As he walked down the hallway he reached into his pocket and grabbed his cell phone. He was going to call Page his girlfriend to see what the deal was. When he went to dial nothing happened. He looked down at his phone to discover that he had no service in the school. What the Jimmy said as he tried to figure out this strange situation. Oh yeah, he then remembered
