The Irreparable Truth: Beginning or End?
The Irreparable Truth: Beginning or End?
Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anybody can start today and make a new ending.
I remembered a story of a little girl who was always wishing that rain would fall fast so that the school would be flooded and classes canceled. It was really an amazing feeling to have taken a bath from a severe rain while your feet are being drifted by the fast current.
When I was young, I knew nothing how severe heat existed in a supposed rainy season, how the big, giant sun shed from the cloud during summer. All I knew then was to play, play, and play. It never occurred in my young mind that a big unwanted phenomenon was slowly throwing its fired stones, and nobody was exempted by its bad joke. Yet, this intruder was never a stranger. How can it be, when we, humans, were the one who desired it unconsciously?
As I was growing up, my then empty mind was gradually filled with different facts about global warming. The SARS outbreak, dengue fever, even the diminishing of crop productivity which was very ample in our place, were, according to my teachers, associated with it. But what did O do? Did I feel responsible for its inconvenient consequences? Honestly? I did nothing? Obviously, I did not feel responsible whatsoever. Everyday, the world is becoming less and less attractive in a profound sense. The weather's extreme volatility does no good to human beings. The sad fact is that, we could not simply abandon the universe and look for another planet convenient to us. If it falls, we fall with it, we suffer with it, we die with it. We are now drowning by our own sandstorms because we have planted ourselves in a most vulnerable circumstance. The main problem with us, we are overwhelmed by so much benefits without weighing the costs that we inflect. Hence, now that nature is starting to revenge its sufferings, we could not just held our arms high and say how sorry we are. Therefore, we must do something to amend and restore earth's life once more.
The issues of global warming are not new to us. Actually, a lot of people have knowledge about it and are greatly aware of its irreparable consequences. Yet, we are
