Definitions
Weather-
Is the combination of temperature, precipitation, cloud coverage and win that we experience each day
Climate -
Reflects the weather pattern in a particular region over a long period of time
Humidex-
Refers to the amount of moisture in the air and is measured as a percentage Ex : A Humidex reading of 100 % mean the air cant not hold any more water
Precipitation-
Is all the moisture that falls form the sky for ex. Rain, snow, Hail, and sleet
Wind Chill Factor-
In the winter the wind chill factor measures the chilling effect on human skin of the wind combined with cold temperature
Ultraviolet (UV) Radiation-
The destruction of the ozone layer in the upper atmosphere has allowed more burning rays to reach the earth. These can burn deeply in to unprotected skin and also damage the eyes.
Seven Factors that influence Climate
Latitude: This distance form the equator is a key factor in weather a region is hot or cold.
Places closer to the north or south poles experience colder temperatures than those near the equator
