To Affirm that mandatory conscription would best serve America’s interests

Conscription would benefit America and its people in many different ways. It would improve our security, our society, and our nation as a whole.

First off is the consideration of military efficiency that the military would benefit from larger reserves of manpower. This would give the military greater flexibility in its operational capacities and allow for America to fight prolonged and indeterminate wars. Conscription would also free up volunteers for combat roles, while conscripts fill in jobs that are considered part of the military’s logistics complex, allowing for a larger volume of fighters in a military that is largely composed of noncombat personnel. This would make our military stronger, make sure we have dedicated volunteers doing the specialized anti-terrorism fighting while a large core of draftees support their actions.

Secondly, mandatory conscription would make American society better. Mandatory conscription is done in some nations in Europe (such as Italy, Belgium, The Netherlands) and also in Israel, and it is valuable for society. Conscription would end many social and crime problems, as people would be taught strict discipline and would instill in people a respect for laws and common society that many people feel is lacking
