Leaving for college
When I was younger, I always dreamt of freedom, moving away for college. Now that I am a senior in high school, college is around the corner and it seems like I'll be getting more than freedom. For college I want to attend the University of South Florida, which is located in Tampa, Florida. I feel that leaving home is good, but in the same breath, I feel as if I can't handle it. Even though this will be difficult, I know I can survive.
While attending a college or university that is away from home you gain independence. This is because you are not depending on anyone but yourself because you are by yourself. While on your own, you receive and handle more responsibilities. Also, I will meet new people and make new friends. Eventually, I will get the freedom that I've been craving.
Almost a four hour drive, Tampa holds many tourist attractions as well as University of South Florida (USF). I feel that with only a four hour drive between my home and my dream school, I can still obtain independence yet staying close to home. Tampa's most popular tourist attraction is Busch Gardens, which is near the school. I believe this is good because when I have free time I can go with some friends and enjoy myself. Fun and positivity are some things you need in order to survive away from home.
