Further Treatment Options:

Due to the positioning of the Plantar Fascia (Aponeurosis) under the Medial arch of the foot, unloading or a reduction in the stretching required to help stabilise the foot is required to help reduce excessive forces that can cause ongoing pain whilst weight baring.

As seen above (A) is the length of the MLA and the rough length of the fascia on a person foot (origin at medial tubercle of calcaneus and sub MTPJ insertion points). When the angle from (B) – (C) increases, the calcaneus everts in most cases, the origin of the fascia at the medial tubercle of the calcaneus is further tilted posteriorly. This in turn can cause an elongation along the length of the fascia increased tension along the length of (A) likely causing thickening or repeated tearing.
