Under the Tucson Sun

Background of author:

The author is a poet, gourmet cook, and travel writer. She has written 5 books of poetry, a creguent contributor to food and travel publications. She also wrote a second volume to “Under the Tuscan Sun,” called “Bella Tuscany”.

Purpose of Book:

I believe the purpose of this book was to help readers discover the beauty of Italy. It has made me want to someday visit Italy and experience it for myself. I feel the author has accomplished her purpose.

Structure of Book:

The structure of the book is arranged by time sequence. In Chapter one the author first moves to Italy and purchases a house. As each chapter continues, she explains how she fixes up her house. She also explains how life in Italy is for her and her husband.

Style:

The book was difficult to read because there were a lot of Italian words that I didn’t understand and which had to be translated. The book was casual as if the author and I were having a conversation. The author was being liberal because she tried to give as much information as possible.
