Ux Testing Using Crowd Sourcing

User experience testing (UX testing) can be defined as the measure of effectiveness and satisfaction of the users. We all know that usability evaluation is critical to design based applications but the traditional way of UX testing is generally perceived to be time consuming and requires heavy operations not to mention the expenses. Having said so, over the time UX testing has evolved from face to face offline events to doing it online on smartphones through crowdsourcing which is fairly cheaper and simple to execute.

Crowdsourcing is outsourcing a job to an undefined, generally large group of people. This lets the companies tap into larger group of people with diversity and involves collaborative thinking and thus provides faster solutions. It also detects latent issues which may have slipped passed the cutting room.

Crowdsourcing your user testing helps you in numerous ways, to list down a few:

  1. Decreases the Time to Market

Crowdsourcing your UX testing already connects your brand to a relatively large number of people. The word about your product is already in the market so you need not invest heavily in marketing operations and on ground events.

  1. Customers are a keeper

If the feedback of general public is seriously taken and rectified, it connects the brand on a personal level with the public. This strategy keeps your customers loyal to your brand if they get the impression that they had a hand in improving the product.

        3)   Low Cost & Operations

There is practically no long term commitment with the public which ultimately reduces the cost of legalising the procedure. Also, this all happens online which means no on ground operation is required.

The Indian market has been relatively new to the concept of crowdsourcing while the market of US has been utilizing this concept to its potential through mTurk & crowdflower.
