Vietnam War Through Child’s Eyes

There are many types of people in this world. Some are out going, loud and brave, some are quiet and observant and the rest are just crazy. How does one change who they are? That's easier said than done. A lot of situations can change a person though, I call them lessons learned in life. If a girl got her heart broken because her boyfriend cheated on her, she will hate men and not trust them or give herself wastfully to anybody. That is an example of a scar that a lot of individuals experience in their lives. But because of a such situations we change. A person's personality is who they are, it makes them different in their own way. If every one was the same, then the world would be one boring place. We were created in God's image and his image only, but yet every person is different. No person on this earth is like another. We may be very similar, have a lot in common, but never the same.

The Dead Poet's Society movie shows a lot

of different types of people. Neil Perry is the crazy kind. He loves to do new things, come up with ideas and take action. He has no reasoning for what he does, except his passion, acting. Even with his dad blocking his life, he tried out for the play and realized for a fact that acting is his love and an actor is who he wants to be. Professor Keeting; he is similar to Neil, but organized. He knows his routine in teaching and finds more creative ways to make the boys understand poetry. He didn't care about the rules and cared about his students. He taught in Welton Academy because he loved teaching, no matter how far away London was. Then there was Knox Overstreet. He fell in love with a gilrl named Chris from the first time he saw her and never gave up on his love. He believed in the siese the day and followed it until

the end, which was actually the beginning.

Let me begin with Professor Keepling. He was a new teacher in the university who taught in a different way. His way of teaching was physical doing in order to understand the subject. One lesson he gave the boys was to have the boys stand on his desk and let them see the point. He told them that standing on his desk we see the world from a different point of view. We don't see the world fron any other point of view except our eye level. Another example is when Professor Keepling had the boys walk around in the court yard. His point is the crowd following. In this world, most of us follow the crowd, but to write good poetry he wanted the boys to be individual and have their own style. By having the boys realize that they are followers of the crowd, it put some thinking about change in their minds. This takes me to the dead poet's society group that Neil Perry.

Neil Perry is a bright and very tallented boy. His passion for acting was like Professor Keepling had love for teaching. This connects the two of them. Neil choses Keepling to talk to about confessing his act in a play to his father. The problem with Neil is that acting was all he could think of and nothing eltse. His father, on the other hand, had a whole another ball game he wanted his son to play. His father's big plan was to have his son go to school to become a doctor. This deffinately changed Neil. He shows his emotions very quietly and not noticebly. With all the alternatives, the boy kills himself. He lived carpe diem by trying out for the play and going through that, but not dealing with his father part. He the changed other's lifes too.
