Richardson needs to establish long and short term visions for direction
of the vineyard. He needs to establish a defined business plan that will
help in leading his decision making in the future.

The only plan that he seems to have is making a "quality" product, but with so many variables in
wine making "quality" is a difficult term to describe. What may be quality with
one type or certain brand of wine, may not be considered quality with another. He could in all
actuality have a quality product on a low end market and make considerable money selling this,
or have a vision for only a high end product creating much less product for a high end marketing
label. Richardson will need to work to create a clearer picture of his vision. In addition to
defining his idea of quality Richardson will need to define his financial goals. He has stated that
he would like to leave a legacy for his children, but what exactly does this mean? What would
be a reasonable goal to be considered successful? Would he like to have enough money to hire
additional help? It seems that he will have to be much more clear in what he considers a legacy
for the children and before this can even be left for his kids, he will need to verify the amount
necessary to live a lifestyle that he has chosen and also to run the business. It seems that he
may want to try to grow the business to make more money , which may require more workers or
additional automation. All of the things listed need to be taken in to consideration.
