Summary:
A new company named Vudu has created an internet-based video download console. The console gives access to movies directly from the TV without the need of a computer or cable television service. Vudu’s download service provides 5,000 movies that the buyer can rent or buy at that second to watch. The console is priced at $400. Movies can be rented for 99cents to $3.99 each or bought for $4.99 to $19.99 each, depending on the movie. Vudu made its console and service easy to use even for people who struggle with all this new technology. Directly on the box it says you need a fast internet connection (cable modem) to provide the bandwidth to download DVD-quality films. The box comes with a HD multimedia interface cable and composite video cable to work on HD TVs. Once the system is running the customer can scroll threw five tab: Find Movies, New Releases, My Movies, My Wishlist, and Info & Settings. If a movie is rented it will be wiped off the machine within days but if a movie is purchased it automatically gets stored into the Vudu’s hardrive. The hardrive has 250 gigabytes of capacity. This capacity is enough to hold 50 movies. Vudu plans to have a software update in November that allows users to hookup external hardrives
