In the work shown from the studies of Dr. Christopher J. Ferguson it is concluded that video games do indeed have the ability to lower stress. “In this study, 103 young adults were given a frustration task and then randomized to play no game, a non-violent game, a violent game with good versus evil theme, or a violent game in which they played ‘the bad guy.’ The results suggest that violent games reduce depression and hostile feelings in players through mood management”. They have even thought that it might be able to work with adults and teens who are stressed with real world problems, it can be used to help them with their frustration and stress by helping release it into a positive outsource before they develop emotional and behavioral issues.
