Women and Careers

There has been a lot of debate, during the recent years, concerning career women. Simply put there seems to be a question mark in the minds of most people, women included, when the issue of a career, or lack of it, is raised with regard to women. Why does such an issue occur? How many times have we heard a similar question being raised when it is a man at the receiving end? If the answer to that question is 'never', then why is it so? Is it because women are considered to be home makers, their primary responsibility being to give birth, rear children, tend to the home, and lead a domesticated existence? Does having a career mean that a woman is less able to discharge her responsibilities on the home front?
