Martin Luther King Jr. Essay
Martin Luther King Jr. lost his life trying to better the lives of African-American people. He was one of the greatest American Civil Rights leaders of the 1960s. He was born in 1929 in the city of Atlanta, Georgia. His father was a minister at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta,and he was co-pastor.Martin Luther graduated from high school at the age of fifteen; he received the B. A. degree in 1948 from Morehouse College, From there he continued preaching with his father.Lots of people says he was born to preach. He joined the movement of protesting in 1955 after bus boycott. From there he became more and more involved.
He never knew that being a civil right leader would have brung so much attention. It was a long and hard road though.Many people didn't have hope for any change and just continued living through violence. When Martin Luther King came along he gave them hope. He really wanted to make a change. He did a lot. For example, He started marches,movements,had rallys and different things to speak out to everyone.
He never thought he did enough though.He always felt that he could do more.I really believed if he would of made it back from memphis, it wouldn't of been the end of him striving for the best for this country.
