As a premier provider of healthcare, Advocate Health is dedicated to providing the best affordable healthcare to people from all demographics and social classes. It is clear that the country of Kava would benefit immensely from the presence of a medical system such as Advocate. In order to establish a sound foundation in the community there are a number of issues that need to be addressed both within the organization and in the community.
The first thing that should be addressed is the disorganization of the current business structure in Kava. The business is currently in disarray in all areas including job assignments and company location. The first thing that should be done is to either purchase a new facility or build upon the land that has already been acquired and replace the trailer. The cost effectiveness of both choices should be assessed by doing a value analysis of each option. The proposed site that would perform the functions needed as well as be the most cost effective would hold the greater value. As a health care facility that will be used by the community as a whole it is important to have a facility that looks and is clean, safe, and well kept. The next thing that should be done is to establish a definitive job description and list of responsibilities for each employee. This will help employees to get a clearer picture of their purpose and the company’s mission. It makes it difficult for employees, stock holders, and investors to feel confident with a company that is a jumbled mess. After addressing the organization of the business, the next focus should be reaching out to the community and making the presence of our services known. Importance weighting will be an ideal tool to use for this process. By assigning a weight to each option based on the importance of the outcome it is more likely to receive a favorable outcome and plan. After weighting the importance of health care services for men, women, children and the elderly on the island it is clear that child services are the most needed on the island. With more half of the population being made up of minors it is important to let the adult population know that Advocate is there for all of their children’s health and nutritional service needs. One of the main focuses of the clinic at start up should be the opening of pediatric care facilities for comprehensive care of children. In order to build a rapport with the community
