The Business Case - Why Diversity and Inclusion is Important
Knowing that gaining the support of the Board was critical to the success of the D&I initiative, early in the process the DAC defined the business case for Diversity and Inclusion. This was a clear and succinct statement of the benefits would achieve from embarking on such a significant culture change process, and would be understood by employees throughout the organisation. The business case is as follows:
Higher Productivity: As internal communication, working relationships, team participation and employee utilisation improve through the natural function of living diversity and inclusion, we will achieve greater productivity.
Better Creativity and Innovation: Broadening the company’s perspectives, skills, talents and abilities will enable us to find more creative solutions, innovative approaches and to solve problems at lower cost.
Better Understanding our Customers: Our customer base is diverse and our business more global/regional. Reaching out to an increasingly diverse marketplace will require diversity skills to connect us with potential customers,
