 JOB INTERVIEW – SCRIPT

Anis enters the room, is welcomed by the HR manager and was asked to take her seat.

HR manager:

Good morning! Please, have a seat.

Anis:

Good morning! Thank you.

Anis sits down, takes out a pen, a small notebook and her folder of application and places them on the desk.

Anis:

I have brought along my folder of application for your view.

Anis hands it over to the HR manager.

 

HR manager:

Would you like something to drink?

Anis:

Yes, a glass of water would be wonderful.

HR manager gets a glass of water and hands it to the interviewee.

HR manager:

My name is Nandhini and I am the Human Resources Manager of this company. What was your way here like? Did you have any difficulties in finding our company?

Anis:

Thank you, there were no problem at all, as I have already known your company before. I’ve searched in the internet and had a look at the map on how to get here.

HR manager:

Having read your folder of application I know that you are Ungku Omar Polytechnic last semesters student in Accounting course. Could you please tell me something about yourself and why you applied for a job in our company?

Anis:

My name is Anis bt Rosli. I am 21 years old from Johor. I am currently pursuing Diploma in Accountancy at Ungku Omar Polytechnic. As last semester student, I’m preparing myself to look for job immediately after I finish my examination. This is because, I think it is vital for youngsters like me to get to know new things and gain new experiences in different fields. Besides, I want to continue living in this area and as I am not really fond of living in a big city I found your job advertisement and applied for the job.

HR manager:

What do you know about our company?

Anis:

Well I have already done some research in the internet. Kastner Ltd. is a wholesaler for groceries and seated in the Sunway Carnival. You company are responsible for providing retailers of the environment as well as shops of petrol stations and catering with your goods.

HR manager:

The job offered is already vacant. When could you start working?

Anis:

As soon as I finish my final examination next week I would be able to join.

HR manager:

Do you have any other questions?

Anis:

Yes. I would like to know about the salary.

HR manager:

Well for fresh graduate it would be RM 1200 and there’s allowance and overtime also.

Anis:

Wow that sounds great. By when can I get the offer letter?

 

HR manager:

Most probably by the end of this week we’ll email you the offer letter and agreement.

Anis:

Thank you very much. I do not have any further questions.

HR manager:

Your welcome. Have a safe journey.

Anis:

Good-bye.

HR manager:

Good-bye.

Applicant takes all her personal belongings and leaves the room.

Hema sits down, takes out her tab, and her folder of application and places them on the desk rudely.

Hema:

I have brought along my folder of application.

HR manager:

Would you like something to drink?

Hema:

Yes, a cup of coffee would be great. If possible I would love to have with extra sugar

HR manager calls his secretary and gets a cup of coffee.

HR manager:

My name is Nandhini and I am the Human Resources Manager. What was your way her like? Did you have any difficulties in finding our company?

Hema:

No, there were no problems at all as I have WAZE. I can just type your company address and it leads me here. As easy as pie.  

HR manager:

Having read your folder of application I know that you are Ungku Omar Polytechnic last semester’s student in Accounting course. Could you please tell me something about yourself and why you applied for a job in our company?

Hema:

My name is Hemallatha and I’m from Seremban. As last semester student I’m preparing myself to look for job immediately. I want to continue living in this area. At the same i wish to continue my part time degree so I think it would be better if I find job at the nearest area.

HR manager:

What do you know about our company?

Hema:

Ohh well I don’t really know anything about your company. And I dont think it’s important for me.

HR manager:

When could you start working?

Hema:

I would be able to start work immediately.

HR manager:

What do you think about the salary offered?

Hema:

I would like to negotiate about it. I expect it to be above RM 2000 please.

HR manager:

Do you have any other questions?

Hema:

Yes, when can I get answer from your company?

HR manager:

There are still two more job interviews this week. We will call you at the beginning of next week if you are selected or we will email to you.
