Almah Leadership Style
Almah Leadership style is entrusting style, because he asked opinion from team of his project ‘enhance the overall customer experience and satisfaction ‘. He assumed that all the team willing and able to do this project, so he was trying to gather idea from them and let them implement it.
However actually, the condition was in opposite. The team is definitely unwilling to do the projects (they are very defensive & protecting subordinate to do so) The other fact is that team proposed a consulting firm rather than to implement the project by themselves. This suposedly the team is not be able to perform the project due to lack of ability.
So as the result, Almah cannot get engage to his team.

If I was Almah, I will apply Directing style rather than using Entrusting style. The main reason is the readiness of followers (team). As describe above, his team is very unwilling and not able. This means that team readiness is low. Team needs a leader that quite ‘straight to the point’ a clear direction, what is right and what is wrong. Now what team was seeing of almah is, he just avoiding the conflict; he want to always looks as a nice guys all the time. He doesn’t want to take a risk of rejection by team if he quickly make decision.
The other alternative leadership style was coaching style. Because Istan still have idea to use consulting firm, he is willing to support the main objective of project but is not able to do. So almah need to coach them.
