What one is right for you!
"Is my policy a PPO, HMO, Indemnity, Supplement, or a High Deductible?" That is what runs through many plan holders' head all day. Thank goodness, for people who can explain the difference. With so many types of policy out there, which one is right for you? Each policy has it ups and downs. With a HMO, you have to have a provider is listed on your policy as a primary care physician. With the PPO, you have a any provider who is in your network. (Network means there certain providers who have a contact who can take an in network discount). Indemnity is for retirement plans; means you have to meet a deductible and an out of pocket expense before insurance will pay. Supplement plans policies that follow strict Medicare guidelines, retires also can use these plans. High Deductible plans are the ones with over a thousand-dollar deductible, and your out-of-pocket expense is well over the two-thousand dollar range, in most cases.
I have been around many insurance policies helping my grandfather with his insurance. Once my grandmother passed away, my grandfather was lost. Reasons why the insurance company will not cover my grandmother's claims since she passed worry my grandfather. I quickly, learned how to administer the entire insurance question, making it easier for him. As a granddaughter and as a insurance claims representative; that is why for those people who call in and say they that we aren't paying or can't pay it really saddens me. That is why I suggest the supplemental insurance for retires because it pays for everything.
A PPO policy is great but for someone who lives in a small town, it might not be their style. However, someone who generally has many options around them for doctors, the PPO policy is outstanding! Since there are many different types of doctors, it doesn't limit you to just one who many you haven't had the best of luck with. You have many different doctors in the same field to choose from. Being able to choose makes many customers happy. Everyone who has the PPO policy has had great luck with this type of policy, including myself. I know from having a sick daughter that is great to be able to go to get a second opinion with other doctors who are in the network.
HMO Policies can be nice for those people
