1. Root- is the foundation of a word; it can be combined with prefix or suffix. Prefix- is placed in front of the root word to modify its meaning. Suffix- is placed after the root word to modify and to give the meaning to the root word. Combing Form- is when a root word is combined with a vowel. For example lip/o is combined with the vowel o which is most commonly used.
