I spent one day engaging in normal activities and went to public places such a stores, bank, and college class and restaurants dressed in clothing that is very different from what I would ordinarily wear. I dressed in some baggy jeans; bit long T-Shirt and a hat with some sneaker. First of all I felt very uncomfortable because I never wear these cloths on a daily basis. It was very uncomfortable for me to walk around dressed that way however I noticed many interesting facts on people’s reaction. I experienced prejudice which literally means prejudgment, it is learned, generally negative attitudes directed toward specific people solely because of their membership in an identified group. It is not innate, it is learned and creates many problems for its victims and limits a person’s ability o accurately judges others and process information.
For example, in school there was not much feedback because most kid right out of High School is into these trends. However I went to public place I noticed a great deal of annoyance. When I went to the mall the sales persons were constantly watching me and what I was doing as if I was to steal something, very disturbing! As I continued on my day, I made a quick run at Bank of America in Hackensack, New Jersey, where I go all the time,
but this one time it was much more different. Stereotype is defined as a set of thoughts and beliefs held about people strictly because of their membership in a group, in other words I think people at the bank were looking at me wondering what I could possibly be doing there, not even imagining that I had been a customer with them for several years which made me real mad. There was an effective component, consisting of feelings and emotions associated with objects of prejudice, at the bank the teller was rude and in a rush to get
