The national wild turkey federation strives to conserve the wild turkey and preserve our hunting. founded in 1873 the national wild turkey federation is a non-profit organization. It focuses on wildlife management of public,private and corporate lands. It also supports wild turkey hunting as a traditional North America sport. there are over 6.5 million wild turkeys due to the efforts of federal,stae and provincial wildlife agencies as well as the national wild turkey federations numerous partners and volunteers. Over 29,000 projects benefit wild turkeys and other game and non-game species have been funded by the national wild turkey federation and other supporters.
Grants offered through Georgia power project WINGS program,(wildlife Incentives for Non-game and Game species) has helped many Georgia landowners create better wildlife habitats. this project builds rural economies and promotes stronger wildlife populations. through this project, brush covered rights of way are converted into productive wildlife habitats.Enviromental awareness has risen and wildlife habitats have improved all through project WINGS.
