Google Doc, Google Sheets & Google Slides
Google Doc, Google sheets & Google slides are a word processor, a spreadsheets & a
presentation program respectively, all part of a free, web-based software office suite offered by
Google within its Google Drive service. The suite allows users to create and edit documents online
while collaborating with other users in real time.
Google Docs is written in JavaScript & it can be accessed by web, chrome, android or IOS
operating system. It’s available in 53 languages with word processing, spreadsheets, presentation
program & collaborative software forms. Available at www.docs.googl.com
The three apps are available as web application, as chrome apps that work offline, & as
mobile apps for android & IOS. The suite also consists of Google Forms (survey software), Google
Drawings (diagramming software) & Google Fusion Tables (data base manager; experimental). While
forms & tables are only available as web applications, Drawings is also available as chrome app.
The suite is tightly integrated with Google Drive. All files created with apps are by default
saved to Google Drive.
Google Docs originated from two different products, Writely & Google Spreadsheets. And
Google Docs can be imported through the web interface, or sent via email. Documents are
automatically saved to Google servers, & a revision history is automatically kept so past edits maybe
viewed.
