Essay title: Organizational Behavior
To have an effective and efficient workplace the business must have an understanding of the organizations behavior. Organizational Behavior (OB) is the study of individuals and group organizations (Schermerhaorn, hunt and Osborn, 2005, P3). The understanding of this concept should trickle down from the highest managerial position in the business to the lowest managerial position. In this paper I will define and explain some of the factors of OB witch are organizational culture, diversity, communication, organizational effectiveness and efficiency and organizational learning from a management position with a span of control of 4 to 7 employees.
Whether an individual has been in a leadership position or finds themselves in a different or new position, he or she will have to learn how to adapt and figure out how to control his or her employees in order to get the employees to do what needs to be done while creating a positive atmosphere. A big key of doing this is by researching and understanding the specific OB. New managers make a common mistake of leading with prior styles from different organizations. It must be understood that all human beings are different thus they react different to orders and commands. One of the tools to better understand the OB is to study the organizations culture. Organizations culture is the shared believes and values that influence the behavior of the organizational members. Be aware that when describing organizational culture it is not narrowed to the culture of the individual but more so the culture of the entire organization. Two ways that the organizations culture is influenced is internally some examples are by mission statements, standard operating procedures and action plans and externally by, but now limited to, influence such as religion and ethnic practices.

Diversity is the presence of the individual differences based on gender, race, ethnicity, age, able-bodiedness and sexual orientation. With good leadership, diversity can be used as an advantage to the business by focusing on finding new talents, different ideas can evolve, avenues of approach can be available to new employees and organizational problems, etc. On the contrary if discrimination or a sense of unfairness is felt by the subordinates than the organization may be at risk of but not limited to, many disciplinary actions among its members, jeopardy of the organizations future.
One key factor that falls to aid diversity is communication. Communication is the process of sending and receiving messages
