There are numerous types of technical aspects when dealing with technology in ones career field. However, the types of data employed, and technology devices used in Information Technology fields, deals with technical aspects daily.
Life in the United States is faster paced today than every before. Technology has advanced over the years, and demands for better technical support has increased; nevertheless, as an IT Major, the types of data I will encounter in my career field implies data support, meaning, trouble shooting, different forms of operating systems, and storages of the data.
Data support in the IT field is dealing with incoming telephone calls, in house support, and online technical difficulties. The support system goes by several aspects when dealing with incoming technical problems; for instance, the data support team will first deal with the problem by supporting the company, asking the caller questions to determine where the problem begins. Also, the data support team investigates the technical problem to find out where the problem lies. This is what IT calls troubleshooting. “Troubleshooting is a form of problem solving. It is the systematic search for the source of a problem so that it can be solved”.
When the IT support troubleshoots the data, questions are to be asked. For an example: What is your operating system? IT needs to know, whether or not, your operating computer system is Windows,XP, Mac, ect, to first start the support. Is the computer hardware, first of all, plugged in correctly? Is it responding to Ctrl, alt, del? When did the problem first occured? What was the last application open before computer start having technical problems? Those are several aspects when engaging in IT support.
