To Be a Man Today
Webster’s dictionary defines a “man” as, “one possessing in high degree the qualities considered distinctive of manhood.” In addition, society defines a “man” of today as some one who possesses strength, good looks, and wealth. My view differs from that of society and Webster’s Dictionary. To me, responsibility, character, and money are what make a man today.
Responsibility is a number one quality necessary to define a man. For example, a father of a family works to provide for his family. If the father shirked his responsibility, there would be no money to pay for food, utilities, and the house that the family needs. Responsibility is required in order to keep all families and many other organizations together. Also, it is the responsibility of the father to provide an example for what young males need to grow up to be.
Character defines every man’s life. Characteristics such as: confidence, intelligence, humor, diligence, and morality identify how a man will be successful. In addition, those characteristics will tell society what type of personality a man has. These characteristics also make a man
