Experience with decision-making models
I have been with Incredible Technologies for three years now, working on a route management software which helps amusement business owners manage their company and assist in making decisions based on the information they get out of the software. The software has been around for almost 18 years before I was hired. In the course of 18 years, the software was mostly built on customer’s ideas and how they think the application should work.
I was hired to help revamp the software and give it a new look using the latest programming utilities available. There was some difficulty modeling it up with the previous version of the software because it did not follow the principles of programming techniques. Initially, it was very difficult designing the new software because I was asked to keep in mind on how the current users are used on how the current version works. But at the same time I was thinking there was no better time to implement the standard features for a business application.
Decision-Making
I can say that the decision-making model that my department is currently using is the garbage can model. Hoch (2001, p. 84) suggested that decisions in this model are almost random, chaotic and non-adherent to rationale decision-making.
